1987年夏天,京都出現了一座以泥土、稻草和木材建成的「千年影院」,專門上映《牧野村千年物語》, 這部短片就記錄了當時關西的工作人員為這座臨時影院添上生機的過程。

In the summer of 1987, a theatre named ‘The Theatre of a Thousand Years’ was constructed by mud, dry grass and wood in Kyoto. It served as a special place only for screening Magino Village - A Tale, and this short film documented the process.

小川紳介

小川生於日本東京,1960年開始於岩波映畫擔任副導演,1964年起開始獨立製作,拍攝首部紀錄長片《青年之海‧四個函授生的故事》(1966) 及《現認報告書‧羽田鬥爭的紀錄》(1967)。1968年他成立小川攝制組及深入三里塚攝製「三里塚」系列紀錄片,記錄當時的農民反成田機場運動。1974年小川搬到山形的牧野村,繼續以農民的視點製作紀錄片,十三年後完成最後一部長片《牧野村千年物語》。

Shinsuke Ogawa

Born in Tokyo in 1936, Ogawa served as assistant director at Iwanami Productions from 1960. Ogawa went independent in 1964 and made his first films Sea of Youth (1966) and A Report from Haneda (1967). He founded Ogawa Productions in 1968 and went to live in the farming village of Sanrizuka while producing the Sanrizuka series, which depicted the movement in opposition to the construction of Narita International Airport. Continuing to make films from the viewpoint of farmers, in 1974 Ogawa moved to Magino in Yamagata, where he filmed Magino Village—A Tale while growing rice and observing life in farming villages.
